Volunteer Objective: 

  • Guides development, maintenance, promotion, and oversight of the ESG Disclosure Standards: Responsible for the technical oversight of the ESG Disclosure Standards. Provides representation of key industry stakeholders to guide the development and adoption of the ESG Disclosure Standards. Jointly approves the ESG Disclosure Standards technical agenda and jointly approves the issuance of authoritative guidance along with the accountable CFA Institute Managing Director. The ESG Technical Committee oversees all ESG Disclosure Standards subcommittees and working groups. CFA Institute members can earn Professional Learning (PL) Credit Hours for volunteer service on this committee (i.e., 1 CE hour per call, including up to 2 SER hours per year). 

Work Location and Time Commitment:

  • Remote: travel not required. The time commitment for this role is quarterly conference calls, or more frequent as needed, depending on the level of development activity.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight of the ESG Disclosure Standards and guide their development, maintenance, and promotion. Describe the needs of market participants and balance the interests of stakeholder groups. Jointly approve the issuance of the ESG Disclosure Standards and authoritative guidance in conjunction with the accountable CFA Institute Managing Director. 

Volunteer Experience and Requirements:

  • Volunteers must have a minimum of ten (10) years of professional investment industry experience, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, managing, marketing, evaluating, and/or selecting ESG products and strategies. Please note that you are required to submit your resume or CV with your application.
