Volunteer Objective:

  • Responsible for the technical oversight of the GIPS standards. Provides representation of key industry stakeholders to guide the development and adoption of the GIPS standards. Jointly approves the GIPS standards technical agenda and jointly approves the issuance of authoritative guidance along with the accountable CFA Institute Managing Director. The GIPS Standards Technical Committee oversees all the GIPS standards subcommittees and working groups.

Work Location and Time Commitment:

  • The time commitment for this role is bimonthly conference calls or more frequently as needed, with significant time for document review and conference call preparation. CFA Institute members can earn Professional Learning (PL) Credit Hours for volunteer service on this committee (i.e., 1 CE hour per call, including up to 2 SER hours per year).

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical oversight by guiding the development of the GIPS standards. This committee will include representatives from key industry stakeholders, to ensure their interests are represented and considered in the development of the GIPS standards.

Volunteer Experience and Requirements:

  • GIPS Standards Technical Committee Members are senior-level industry representatives with a minimum of 10+ years of professional investment industry experience, expertise in investment performance, and expertise with the GIPS standards. Please note that you are required to submit your resume or CV with your application.
