Volunteer Role Description

The Career Development Committee provides valuable, career-building events and resources for finance/investment students, CFA Candidates, Society members, and investment professionals. The focus of career development is soft skills-focused programming such as career development, speaking, writing, networking, and more!

This group is looking for enthusiastic members who are eager to dig into what the needs of our members are in these areas, taking into account what is provided by employers and how the Society can complement these offerings. Also, how can we reach investment professionals in all stages of their careers with applicable material?

We're looking for a variety of individuals to serve on this active group: students, CFA Candidates, new CFA Charterholders, and CFA Charterholder with years of experience in the industry. 

Projects include: 
  • Promoting Career Resources
  • Conducting Employer Outreach
  • Enhancing the Career Development Network
  • Leading the development of Day in the Life programs and other career-building workshops (social styles, imposter syndrome, negotiation, time management) staff handles logistics (venue, catering, registration)

Does this interest you? Then please reach out! Committee members don't have to have all the answers, but if you're eager to get involved, this is a fun way to build your network, gain experience with career development programming and engage a variety of stakeholders.

Meetings take place quarterly with a virtual option available.
