THE EXPERT PANEL

Reuben Mark Angeles, VP and Head of Research of First Metro Securities. He holds degrees in Accounting, Business Management, and Economics from the University of South Florida. He has over 20 years of experience in analyzing and advising US, European, and Philippine equities. He also heads the research partnership between First Metro Securities and Development Bank of Singapore (DBS).


Eric Fishwick joined CLSA in July 1999 and has been Chief Economist since 2007. He is now based in London after living in Asia for 15 years. Eric has 27 years' experience in financial markets and has worked in developed economy fixed income markets with the Industrial Bank of Japan (1991-96) and Nikko Europe (1997-99) before focusing on Asian equities. Eric has been voted Asiamoney's best regional economist several times. Before moving into the financial sector, he served as a permanent advisor to the British Parliament working at the House of Commons. Eric holds an MA in economics and an MPhil in international relations from the University of Cambridge.

April Lynn Tan is the Chief Equity Strategist in COL Financial, the largest online stockbroker in the Philippines. She handles a team of analysts who covers more than 60% of the total market capitalization of the Philippine Stock Exchange. She also regularly conducts market strategy presentations and appears in local business programs as a resource person for stock market matters. She also writes a weekly column for the Philippine Daily Inquirer which focuses on the stock market and personal finance topics.


April was also the President of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of the Philippines (CFA Society Philippines) from 2009 to 2016. Under her term as president, CFA Philippines won several Society Excellence Awards including the “Most Outstanding Society” for its size. The Society also became the country sponsor for the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) together with the local “Fund Managers’ Association of the Philippines” and the “Trust Officers Association of the Philippines.”

She received her Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering degree in Ateneo de Manila University. April became a CFA Charterholder in 2000.

MODERATOR

Domini S. Velasquez, 42, Filipino, Vice President II, is the Chief Economist and Head of the Economic and Markets Research Division of the Bank. She has over 15 years of experience in macroeconomic research and policy analysis. She spent most of her career in the National Economic and Development Authority providing economic analysis and advice to the government and other stakeholders in achieving the country’s development plan. Prior to joining the Bank, she was a consultant at the Asian Development Bank. Aside from this, she was previously with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Investor Relations Office and Citibank’s public sector risk unit. Domini graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She also holds a master’s degree in Public Policy, specializing in economic policy, from the National University of Singapore and a master’s degree in International Migration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Grant Cheng, CFA, is the Chief Financial Officer of Cebu Landmasters, Inc. He oversees all the essential financial functions of the company including corporate finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations, tax management, account take-outs and even information technology. 

During his time so far, CLI has raised over P30bn in capital, more than doubled its customer base, oversaw annual growth of over 20% for both topline and bottomline, and improved its governance and operations, even through the Covid pandemic. He is the ING-FINEX CFO of the year in 2022.

Previously he was a senior Deal Manager at BDO Capital and Investment with the rank of Vice President. He executed and managed several landmark and complex capital transactions. He was involved in advisory, execution and syndication of various equity and fixed-income deals. He also provided financial advisory services to businesses who considered tapping capital markets.

Prior to that he was a Financial Adviser at Universal Harvester, Inc. and a VP Private Banker at EFG Bank (Singapore). He previously had private banking experience with Commerzbank AG SouthEast Asia and Citi Private Bank in Singapore. He started his career as a project manager at Procter & Gamble Asia. 

He obtained, with distinction, a Masters degree in Wealth Management from the Singapore Management University.  He graduated Magna cum Laude with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management at De La Salle University Manila as a Star Scholar. Upon graduation, he was presented with the Brother Gabriel Connon Award – the highest distinction given by the school to an undergraduate. He was awarded by the Philippine president as one of the Top Outstanding Students of the Philippines.
