Local Membership

Local Associate Membership

​These membership categories are available for applicants who do not qualify for regular or affiliate membership for CFA Society South Florida. Local memberships are designed for professionals or students who want access to  events and offerings at a discounted member rate.

Professional associate and student associate members have the same membership benefits as regular and affiliate members of CFA Society South Florida. Local memberships do not provide CFA Institute membership privileges. Both professional associate and student associate members do not have voting rights.

Professional Associate Membership:

To qualify for Professional Associate membership to CFA Society South Florida, an applicant must:

  • Submit the CFA Society South Florida Professional Associate Membership application via online form
  • Pay annual dues of US$150 for  from July 1 through June 30. Dues are not prorated.
  • Create a CFA Institute account before applying using this link. Ensure your mailing address is up to date in your profile. The address is required for CFA Society South Florida to manage your membership and enable discounted member registration for events. Society staff can walk you through the steps to update your address but cannot complete the change for you.
    • CFA Candidates and former CFA Candidates: You already have a CFA Institute Account. Use your existing account to join as a local member.

Student Associate Membership:

To qualify for Student Associate membership to CFA Society South Florida, an applicant must:

  • Be a matriculated undergraduate or graduate student
  • Submit the CFA Society South Florida Student Associate Membership application via online form
  • Have a faculty member or university administrator submit a signed authorization to membership@cfasouthflorida.org certifying applicant's student status. CFA Society South Florida will contact the designated faculty member or university administrator once to obtain the signed authorization  with an email copy to the student. It is the student's responsibility to follow-up to ensure CFA Society South Florida receives the signed authorization form. Membership application will be approved once the  authorization form is received. Annual certification of student status with a signed authorization  a designated faculty member or university administrator is  continue student associate membership.
  • Pay annual dues of US$25 for period from July 1 through June 30. Dues are not prorated. 
  • Create a CFA Institute account before applying using this link. Ensure your mailing address is up to date in your profile. The address is required for CFA Society South Florida to manage your membership and enable discounted member registration for events. Society staff can walk you through the steps to update your address but cannot complete the change for you.
