CFA Society Seattle Book Club: Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to

    Jun 17, 05:00 PM - 06:00 PM (PT)

Please join us to discuss Part 1: Human Networks, from the book: Nexus by Yuval Noah Harari. The book is structured into three parts that each focus on a different aspect of the development of human networks. Our next two book club meetings will continue with Part 2: The Inorganic Network and Part 3: Computer Politics.

In Part 1 of Nexus, Human Networks, the author explores how information networks have shaped human history by connecting people through shared stories, beliefs, and systems. He highlights how narratives unify societies, enable large-scale cooperation, and drive the formation of bureaucracies through writing. Yuval Noah Harari also warns that these networks can spread misinformation and division, showing that more information doesn’t always mean better understanding.
