The Charter Award Ceremonies are organized annually to recognize the new Charterholders, who with immense hard work and effort, clear all three levels of the CFA Exam and meet the relevant work experience requirement to earn the title. Ceremonies are arranged in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
17th Charter Award Ceremony
November 2019
Karachi
The ceremony was held on 18th November 2019 in Governor House, Karachi.
The Honorable Governor Sindh, Mr. Imran Ismail graced the event as the Chief Guest and Mr. Paul Smith, CFA, Former President & CEO, CFA Institute was the Guest of Honor for the evening. Mr. Paul Smith, CFA gave a motivational keynote speech to the new Charterholders and also presented them with the Charter Certificates.
70 new Charterholders were presented with the Charter at the ceremony.
16th Charter Award Ceremony
December 2018
Karachi
The ceremony was held on 18th December, 2018 at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi.
Mr. Geoffrey Ng, Member, Board of Governors, CFA Institute and Mr. Inayat Hussain, CFA, Executive Director, Banking Supervision Group, State Bank of Pakistan graced the event as Chief Guests and welcomed the new Charterholders to the CFA Family.
98 new Charterholders were presented with the Charter at the ceremony.
15th Charter Award Ceremony

Karachi
The ceremony was organized at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi on December 24, 2017, to recognize the new charterholders and celebrate their efforts and achievements. 77 charterholders joined the local community this year.
We were honoured to host Mr. Aftab Diwan, CEO Central Depository Company, and Mr. Larry Cao, CFA, Director Content CFA Institute Asia Pacific as Keynote Speakers for the Ceremony. They also presented the charters to the new charterholders.
Mr. Aftab Diwan gave great advice to the young professionals and his words became a source of encouragement and motivation for them. Mr. Larry Cao spoke on Fintech and CFA Institute's research on the matter.
The event was qualified for 1 CE hour.
14th Charter Awards Ceremony

Karachi
The ceremony was held at the Pearl Continental Hotel on 24th November 2016. A total of 71 charterholders newly joined the CFA community in Pakistan this year.
We were honored to host Mr. Attila Koksal, CFA from CFA Institute Board of Governors and Dr. Tony Tan, CFA, Head Advocacy Asia Pacific CFA Institute. Their presence was a source of motivation and inspiration to the new charterholders as they personally presented the charters to the young professionals and acknowledged the critical support of family members as the candidates go through the rigorous study cycle.
The ceremony was also graced by Mr. Ehsan A. Malik, CEO, The Pakistan Business Council who presented a very realistic and practical view on Pakistan’s economic challenges and way forward.
The event was qualified for 1 CE hour.
13th Charter Award Ceremony

CFA Society Pakistan organized its 13th Annual Charter Awards Ceremony on 11th January 2016 to welcome the new Charter holders and facilitate them to develop their contacts network within the industry. The Ceremony was graced by one of the most senior personalities of Pakistan Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister Planning, Development & Reform/Deputy Chairman Planning Commission.
Mr Ahsan, congratulated the new Charterholders and at the same time appreciated CFA Society Pakistan for its efforts to develop the capital markets of Pakistan. The Minister gave some valuable insights on the topic of the evening - The Economic & Development Impact of CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor). s outstanding work for its Members, Candidates and Financial Industry. .
Mr. Ashraf Bava, CFA, President CFA Society of Pakistan also congratulated the new Charterholders and presented a brief overview of the activities conducted by the society locally and invited the members – the new and old – to actively participate and contribute to the industry.

CFA Society Pakistan hosted its 12th Annual Charter Awards Ceremony on December 04, 2014 at Movenpick Hotel Karachi. Mr. Paul Smith, CFA – Managing Director, Asia Pacific, CFA Institute, Hong Kong graced the occasion as chief guest. He congratulated the new charter holders who strived day and night in order to put a valuable three words "CFA" after their names. The event was followed by dinner. It was a good opportunity for our members to network and first hand gain the global perspective from Mr. Smith.
